BEACH DAYS. A DOWNTOWN WITH PERSONALITY.

Why choose Ventura for your beach vacation?

Ventura has that relaxed, slightly bohemian beach-town feel: time on the sand, local shops to browse, and an evening downtown that doesn’t have to be a big production. You can spend the morning at Pierpont Beach, head out for dinner, and make live music part of the night. Our Team can help you find a place to stay that fits the vacation you have in mind.

01 / THE BEACH

Start with Pierpont.

Pierpont is a beach neighborhood, so it makes sense to choose your home around how you want to spend your days. Walk on the sand, make time for sunset, and explore the Seaward Avenue area for a bite to eat. Marina Park, at the south end of Pierpont Boulevard, is another option for a beachfront outing.

Our planning tip: Compare each home’s actual beach access, stairs, sleeping arrangements, and parking before booking. A loft and a multi-level beach house offer different kinds of stays.

02 / AFTER THE BEACH

Local nightlife, live music, and Main Street.

Downtown is where Ventura’s creative, boho side comes through. Browse local shops, settle into an outdoor dining spot, and check what’s playing that evening. The pedestrian Main Street stretch between Figueroa and Fir streets makes it easy to wander between stops.

Live music is part of downtown’s appeal, with performances at local venues and occasional outdoor events. Check the current calendar before you go—street performances and show schedules vary.

03 / A DAY OUT

Santa Barbara is an easy day-trip idea.

Santa Barbara is north of Ventura along US 101. Visit Ventura describes it as about a 30-minute drive; allow more time for your starting point, traffic, and parking. Spend a day exploring, then come back to your Ventura beach home for the evening.

Our planning tip: Use a live map for your travel day rather than treating the estimate as a guaranteed drive time.

AN EASY WAY TO SPEND A DAY

Morning: Coffee and a Pierpont beach walk. Afternoon: Time at the beach or a browse downtown. Evening: Dinner around Main Street, then live music if a show catches your eye. Keep the schedule loose enough to enjoy it.

ANSWERS BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

Common questions about visiting Ventura

Where should I stay in Ventura for a beach vacation?

Start with Pierpont if time at the beach is your priority. Our collection includes Pittsfield, Pierpont, and New Bedford properties. Choose by the home’s beach access, guest capacity, stairs, and parking—not just its photo. Our Team can help you compare the options.

Is downtown Ventura Main Street pedestrian-friendly?

Yes. The Main Street Moves area covers Main Street between Figueroa and Fir streets and California Street between Main and Santa Clara streets. This is a pedestrian-focused area with shops and outdoor dining. Check the City’s Main Street Moves page for current access and construction updates.

Where can I find live music and nightlife in Ventura?

Start with downtown’s local venues and the Downtown Ventura events calendar. You can combine dinner around pedestrian Main Street with a nearby show. Outdoor music happens at some events, but it is not a nightly promise; check the event location, show time, tickets, and age restrictions.

How far is Santa Barbara from Ventura?

Visit Ventura gives a driving estimate of about 30 minutes north to Santa Barbara. The actual trip depends on where you start, US 101 traffic, and your destination. Allow extra time and check a live map before leaving.

Do I need a car for a Ventura beach vacation?

A car is useful for Santa Barbara and other outings. You may be able to walk for much of your beach time, depending on the property you choose. Downtown’s pedestrian area is separate from Pierpont; check the route from your specific home rather than assuming every destination is an easy walk.

Are your Ventura vacation rentals dog-friendly?

Yes, our Ventura properties are dog-friendly. Include your dog when booking so you can review fees and house rules. Sorry, no cats. Beach and park rules are separate from a home’s dog policy, so check the rules at the place you plan to visit.

How do I check availability and book a Ventura property?

Open the property’s availability and booking section on this page. Each home has its own OwnerRez calendar and booking form. Select your dates in that home’s form to review pricing and booking requirements. Our Team can help if you have questions before booking.
